What IPL can do for you
IPL (intense pulse light) treats the following:
- Hair Reduction – throw away your shaver and forget about waxing
- Hormonal Hair/Hair Management - manage the unwanted facial hair
- Photo Rejuvenation – remove all the sun damage and pigmentation, clean the slate again
- Broken Capillaries/Facial Veins – Reduce those unwanted facial veins
- Rosacea – Manage the redness of your skin and help maintain that look
- Acne – clear up acne scarring and help prevent future breakouts
After only 1 treatment clients are amazed by the reduction of hair, acne, freckles and sun damage, with their skin looking refreshed and years younger - no invasive procedures required.
It is important when looking for a suitable place to have treatments that you feel comfortable with the operator.
After your initial consultation you should know what is involved with having IPL treatments and feel comfortable before proceeding with the treatments. There are so many IPL systems on the market today and they do vary considerably with some only treating hair reduction, whilst others can treat for sun, vascular and acne damage. Some systems are better than others. Price alone does not guarantee the best treatment.
During your initial consultation we will explain how IPL and other skin treatments work, what they can do for you, the do’s and dont’s of treatments and also discuss with you your medical history and any concerns you may have. Should you wish, you can have your first treatment at that time or make an appointment for a future time.

HAIR REDUCTION

Clients talk about Hair Reduction & Pigmentation Services
After going to the beautician for years to get my monthly waxing done I was eager to try out IPL and save some money in the long run. A lot of my friends have had it done with a mixed response. It definitely pays to do research and find out what machine the salon uses as there is a big difference. Some of my friends opted for the cheaper versions and I must say, you pay for what you get! After having my first treatment using the Chromolite S System I couldn’t believe how patchy the hair grew back and how slow it was at growing after just one treatment, now after finishing my course of treatments I’m hair free and it feels great. The treatments were quick and easy and I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. I then had to try out the Rejuvenation treatments for my face and I was so amazed at the clearance I have had with pigmentation and sundamage.

SUN DAMAGE / PIGMENTATION

Clients talk about Sun Damage Treatment
Being from England I have never really been worried about sun damage to my skin.. well never really understood the true damage it can do to your skin. So I would spend every moment in the sun roasting myself and trying to get as brown as possible. However everything changed once I got to Australia. I noticed my skin was changing, I was getting a lot of sun spots on my back and my face was covered in sun damage I used to hate putting my face in the sun as it would look like a puzzle of freckles.... After about 10 days all the brown spots fell of my face and my skin became clear and almost even toned. I also purchased some products which have cleared my skin up. I love my new face.. My boyfriend even loves my new face he is constantly commenting me on it. If I was in Australia for longer I would definitely have more treatments but for now I am back in the UK and will have to wait for my next trip which I will definitely be doing in the near future.

ROSACEA
Chronic inflammatory disorder of the face, appearing as rosy cheeks or red patches. Further development may induce inflamed, small, red, solid papules or pus-filled pustules. Early treatment can lessen or get rid of symptoms and/or prevent blood vessels from enlarging. Rosacea cannot be totally cured, but can be controlled.

ACNE
Acne bacteria is destroyed by exposure to the light given out by the IPL, reducing the visible spots. At the same time, the rejuvenation effects of IPL improve the environment to help control future breakouts.

What Clients of Chromolite S Say
Getting IPL was the best thing to ever happen to my skin. Having suffered from acne since I was a teenager, I was getting very depressed when I was still having breakouts in my mid-twenties. When I first went I was sceptical - I had already tried unsuccessfully over the years to fix my skin with everything from antibiotics and vitamins, to lotions and creams - but nothing worked. So imagine my amazement when after only a few sessions my skin had cleared up completely! Three months on my skin has never looked better - the deep congestion and acne has disappeared and my skin is plump and refined (no more scarring and discolouration from the years of squeezing).

Frequently asked Questions
WHAT IS CHROMOLITE S IPL?
Chromolite S is an Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) that emits a concentrated pulse of light which targets the hair follicles for permanent reduction or areas of the skin for rejuvenation effects. Chromolite S uses a unique Smartlight technology to produce an optimum pulse profile for treatment containing dual frequencies in the red and yellow light spectrum.
WHAT CAN IPL DO FOR ME?
Chromolite S offers a non-invasive, safe and effective treatment for a multitude of applications including; hair reduction, skin rejuvenation and the maintenance of active acne. Chromolite S is capable of treating most skin and hair colours on both men and women.
HOW DOES IPL WORK?
Hair Reduction – the combination of red and yellow light delivered by Chromolite S, targets the whole hair follicle structure, raising the temperature and causing its subsequent destruction.
Skin Rejuvenation & Vascular (removals of freckles, sundamage, maintenance of Rosacea and facial veins) – The yellow light absorbs into blood targets and thus can effectively be used to coagulate and collapse vascular irregularities, the red light targets unwanted pigmentation and the combination of both lights stimulates collagen production to improve skin structure and reduce fine lines and laxity.
Active Acne – P.Acnes bacteria builds up within the hair follicles and causes the inflamed and painful spots of active acne. This bacteria is destroyed by exposure to the light given out by Chromolite S reducing the visible spots. At the same time, the rejuvenation effects of Chromolite S improve the skin environment to help control future outbreaks.
CAN ANYONE HAVE IPL TREATMENTS?
There are a few people that may not be suitable for treatment due to their particular circumstances such as medical history. Before starting treatment the clinic schedule a FREE consultation session with a trained Chromolite S operator to discuss your suitability for treatment, explain any pre and post treatment requirements and answer any further questions you may have.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF IPL TREATMENTS?
With the majority of treatments there are little or no visible after effects so you can resume your normal routine quickly. Some parts of the body are more sensitive than others and may redden and swell, similar to the effects you experience with too much sun exposure. The clinic will advise you of the after care required to minimise this occurring. It is very important to avoid UV exposure 6 weeks before and after each treatment as this dramatically increases the risk of side effects and can reduce results. During the treatment you are likely to have some sensations of heat but if you feel any discomfort during the treatment please tell your Operator immediately.
HOW MANY IPL TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
For hair reduction the number of treatments required varies, depending on the density and location of the hair growth. Hair follicles constantly cycle through 3 stages of growth and only on of these stages is suitable for treatment with light therapy. Approximately 20-30% of hair follicles in an area are in the growing phase at any one time and can be treated. Typically an area will need between 5-8 sessions to reduce visible hair growth, some people require less and some require more. Light skin makes hair removal easier to perform, fewer treatments are required and better faster results are obtained. People with darker skin can be treated, the results are slower and more sessions may be needed. Your Chromolite S operator will be able to make a cleared estimate of the number of treatments you will require after the first 1-3 sessions once they can assess how well your body is responding to Chromolite S.
For Skin Rejuvenation/Sun Damage the number of treatments varies, typically 3 to 5 treatments is required, some people may only need 1 or 2 depending on how much damage is in the area.
For Active Acne/Rosacea/Broken Capillaries the number required depends on the severity of the condition. Most people require between 6-10 sessions. Some people can require more or less.
